In proudly supporting all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth, the Massachusetts Lottery and the Springfield Thunderbirdshave teamed up to show their appreciation for members of our community who are actively serving or have previously served our country in the armed forces. At every Friday and Sunday home game during the season, the Thunderbirds honored an individual who has gone beyond the call of duty during this Hometown Salute.
During these challenging times, the Thunderbirds and the Massachusetts Lottery are continuing their program to recognize a Hometown Hero and give thanks to those healthcare and front line workers who are going above and beyond to keep us healthy and safe. We are asking you to nominate someone you know who has been working tirelessly during the COVID-19 pandemic, putting others ahead of themselves. The Thunderbirds will be selecting two individuals each month from May through August that will be highlighted on social media and receive an exclusive prize pack, including a Hometown Hero commemorative hockey stick, four-pack of tickets to a game next season along with other small gifts. Nominees can be anyone that is making a difference in our community. From a doctor, nurse, EMT on the front line, to an individualworking behind the scenes, providing much needed support such as a first responder, or someone delivering a good meal, we want to hear about them. Please complete the form below and send us a photo to nominate a hero in our community. Thank you to all of those heroes for what you do each day, not only during times of crisis, but throughout the year
