Edmonton Oilers Loan D Fayne to Springfield

Springfield, MA - The Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League announced that they have loaned defenseman Mark Fayne to the Springfield Thunderbirds.
 
In a corresponding transaction in exchange for Fayne's loan to the Thunderbirds, the Florida Panthers have acquired forward Greg Chase from the Oilers for future considerations.
 
Fayne, 30, has skated in 389 career NHL games for the New Jersey Devils and Edmonton Oilers, scoring 17 goals and 48 assists for 65 points. In 68 career AHL games, Fayne has tallied four goals and 19 assists for 23 points with the Albany Devils and Bakersfield Condors.
 
The Providence College product and Nashua, N.H. native was originally a fifth-round (#155 overall)selection by the New Jersey Devils in the 2005 NHL Draft.
 
Chase, 22, was originally a seventh round (#188 overall) selection by the Oilers in the 2013 NHL Draft. In 17 games this season with the Wichita Thunder in the ECHL, Chase has recorded seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points.
 
A native of Sherwood Park, AB, Chase has skated in 73 AHL games with the Oklahoma City Barons and Bakersfield Condors, scoring five goals and adding 17 assists.
