F Leitner Recalled by T-Birds from Manchester (ECHL)

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Thunderbirds announced on Wednesday that they recalled forward Matt Leitner from the Manchester Monarchs (ECHL).

The 25-year-old Leitner has spent the past two seasons with the Monarchs after a four-year NCAA career with the Minnesota State University - Mankato Mavericks. Leitner was off to a strong start with the Monarchs this season, recording a goal and eight assists in Manchester's first ten games.

As a rookie with Manchester last season, Leitner recorded 49 points (12 goals, 37 assists) in 51 games while posting a rating of plus-13.

A native of Los Alamitos, Calif., Leitner has 16 games of AHL experience to his name with the Milwaukee Admirals and Ontario Reign. Leitner registered four assists in 15 games with Ontario in 2015-16.

Springfield takes to the ice to begin another three-game, three-night weekend on Friday Nov. 11, as they face the St. John's IceCaps at the MassMutual Center at 7:05 p.m. ET.
