Panthers Assign F McKegg to T-Birds

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations Dale Tallon announced today that the Panthers have assigned forward Greg McKegg to the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.
 
The 24-year old McKegg has recorded two points (0-2-2) in 19 NHL games this season with the Panthers. The six-foot, 191-pound native of St. Thomas, Ontario has recorded four points (2-2-4) in 38 NHL games with Florida (2015-16) and the Toronto Maple Leafs (2013-15).
 
McKegg was originally selected by Toronto in the third round (62nd overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft. In 237 career AHL games with the Toronto Marlies and Portland Pirates, McKegg has tallied 60 goals and 71 assists, scoring a career-high 22 goals for Toronto in 2014-15.

McKegg and the Thunderbirds play host to the Hershey Bears at the MassMutual Center on Friday, Nov. 25 for No-Shave November promoting men's prostate cancer awareness. The night, presented by Baystate Health and Health New England, will feature the MGM Springfield Pregame Concert Series and Dollar Night deals on hot dogs, soda and popcorn. Puck drop against the Bears is set for 7:05 p.m. ET.
