Panthers Loan F Jamie McGinn to Springfield

SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has activated forward Jamie McGinn from injured non-roster and have loaned him to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.

 

McGinn, 30, has missed all 48 of the Panthers regular season games played this season as he recovered from back surgery. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound native of Fergus, Ontario, appeared in 76 games with Florida in 2017-18, registering 29 points (13-16-29).

 

He has recorded 213 points (113-100-213) over 598 regular season NHL games with Florida (2017-18), the Arizona Coyotes (2016-17), Anaheim Ducks (2015-16), Buffalo Sabres (2015-16), Colorado Avalanche (2011-12 to 2014-15) and San Jose Sharks (2008-09 to 2011-12).

 

McGinn was originally selected by San Jose in the second round (36th overall) of the 2006 NHL Draft.

 

Additionally, the Panthers have activated defenseman MacKenzie Weegar from injured reserve.
