Panthers Loan Malgin to T-Birds

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today the club has loaned forward Denis Malgin to the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds. 

 

Malgin, 20, registered three points (1-2-3) in three games with the Panthers during the 2017 preseason. In 2016-17, the 5-foot-9, 177-pound native of Olten, Switzerland, appeared in 47 games with Florida, recording 10 points (6-4-10). Malgin played in 15 games with Springfield and posted 12 points (3-9-12).

 

He was originally selected by the Panthers in the fourth round (102nd overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.

 

Tickets for Saturday's Opening Night have sold out, but fear not – the Thunderbirds will remain on home ice this Sunday at 3:05 p.m. for Kids Opening Day against the Toronto Marlies. Area mascots will make the journey to Springfield to help kick off the festivities when doors open at 2:00 p.m. Friendly’s Sundae Funday packs are available for the game as well. The Thunderbirds will also be back on home ice for the first 3-2-1 Friday on October 20 as they host the Providence Bruins. Rene Rancourt will perform the national anthem as he makes his annual pilgrimage to Springfield, presented by King Ward Coach Lines. Through the end of the first period, Coors Light drafts are just $3, hot dogs are just $2, and sodas are available for $1.
