Panthers Sign Balisy, Four Others to Contracts

SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has signed the following players to one-year, two-way contracts: forward Chase Balisy, forward Connor Brickley, defenseman Reece Scarlett and goaltender Harri Sateri. Additionally, forward Curtis Valk has agreed to terms on a one-year, entry-level contract.
 
Balisy, 25, led the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL) with 45 points (17-28-45) in 76 games. In 218 AHL games, Balisy has posted 115 points (47-68-115). The 5-foot-11, 180-pound native of Fullerton, Calif., was originally selected by the Nashville Predators in the sixth round (170th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.
 
Brickley, 25, recorded 26 points (15-11-26) in 69 games with the Charlotte Checkers (AHL). The 6-foot, 203-pound native of Everett, Mass., has recorded five points (1-4-5) in 23 NHL games, all with Florida (2015-16). He was originally selected by Florida in the second round (50th overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft.
 
Scarlett, 24, appeared in one game with Springfield recording one goal and appeared in 50 games with the Albany Devils (AHL) posting 21 points (4-17-21). The 6-foot-1, 185-pound native of Sherwood Park, Alberta has produced 93 points (17-76-93) in 216 AHL games. He was originally selected by the New Jersey Devils in the sixth round (159th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.
 
Sateri, 27, appeared in 42 games with Chekov Vityaz (KHL), owning a 20-16-5 record, 2.50 goals against average, .929 save percentage and two shutouts. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound native of Toijala, Finland, was named KHL goaltender of the week during the week of Sep. 25. In 132 KHL games (2014-17), Sateri owns a 52-60-16 record, 2.63 goals against average, .923 save percentage and nine shutouts. He owns a 48-68-7 record over 129 AHL games (2010-14), with a 2.89 goals against average, .902 save percentage and four shutouts.  
 
In 108 games with Tampere Tappara (2008-11, Liiga), Sateri owns a 36-53 record with a 2.89 goals against average, .915 save percentage and six shutouts. He was originally selected by the San Jose Sharks in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft.
 
Valk, 24, appeared in 75 games with Utica, recording 46 points (16-30-46). His 46 points ranked him second on the Comets in scoring and led the club with 30 assists. The 5-foot-9,  166-pound native of Medicine Hat, Alberta has registered 52 points (18-34-52) in 88 AHL games.
