T-Birds Recall D Schemitsch from Manchester (ECHL)

Springfield, MAThe Springfield Thunderbirds announced on Wednesday that they have recalled defenseman Thomas Schemitsch from the ECHL's Manchester Monarchs.

The 20-year-old Schemitsch is the youngest player ever to dress in a game in Thunderbirds history. In 18 games with Springfield this season, he has recorded two assists. He has added two more assists in seven games with the Monarchs.

A native of Thornhill, ON, Schemitsch is originally a third-round pick of the Florida Panthers in the 2015 NHL Draft. He scored 97 points in 182 career junior games with the OHL's Owen Sound Attack.
