T-Birds Sign Farnham to AHL Contract

Springfield, MA -- The Springfield Thunderbirds announced today that they have signed forward Bobby Farnham to an AHL Standard Player Contract.
 
The 28-year-old Farnham, a native of North Andover, Mass., has skated in 16 games for the Thunderbirds in the 2017-18 season, scoring two goals and adding three assists while also accruing 33 penalty minutes.
 
The Brown University alum has skated in 67 NHL games in his professional career, which stretches back to 2011. He has eight career NHL goals and 138 penalty minutes to his credit.
 
His AHL career has spanned 284 games, during which time Farnham has scored 30 goals, added 42 assists, and accumulated 842 penalty minutes with the Providence Bruins, Worcester Sharks, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, St. John’s IceCaps, and Thunderbirds.
 
A year ago in St. John’s, Farnham set his personal career highs at the AHL level in goals (11), assists (17), points (28), and plus-minus (+10).
 
Springfield takes flight for the first time this season as they pay a first-ever visit to the Charlotte Checkers for matchups at 7:15 p.m. Friday and 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte. Both games can be heard on NewsRadio 560 WHYN.
