The Springfield Thunderbirds are proud to continue a tradition on Saturday, March 7 at 7:05 p.m. ET at the MassMutual Center as they host the Providence Bruins for the 4th Annual Pink in the Rink Night, presented by Baystate Health to benefit Rays of Hope!
The evening will be focused on breast cancer awareness and the honoring of survivors. As a charitable arm of Baystate Health Foundation, Rays of Hope funding benefits research at the Rays of Hope Center for Breast Cancer Research, breast cancer programs and services, outreach and education, and awards grants to various community support programs and organizations. The Rays of Hope 5K and walk are held each fall in Springfield. Rays of Hope has raised over $15.3 million to date. All funds raised remain local in western Massachusetts.
To join in the cause, the Thunderbirds will be recognizing breast cancer survivors in a special pregame ceremony at the MassMutual Center prior to Springfield's matchup with the Bruins. In addition, the Thunderbirds will take to the ice in special pink-themed jerseys for one night only. Those jerseys will be auctioned off following the game, with proceeds benefiting Rays of Hope.
This event will also see the ice turn pink for one game only inside the MassMutual Center.
