Panthers Assign Wilcox to Thunderbirds

Sunrise, FL- The Florida Panthers announced on Thursday that they have assigned goaltender Adam Wilcox to the Springfield Thunderbirds of the AHL.

Wilcox, 24, has played in nine games with the Springfield Thunderbirds, posting a 4-3-1 record, 2.02 goals against average, .932 save percentage and two shutouts. On March 1, 2017, the Panthers acquired Wilcox from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for goaltender Mike McKenna. Included in that record is a pair of home ice shutouts against Rochester on March 12 and Albany on March 19. 
 
In 43 AHL games this season with Springfield and the Syracuse Crunch, Wilcox possesses a 22-12-5 record, 2.69 goals against average, .903 save percentage and three shutouts. The 6-foot, 189-pound native of St. Paul, Minn., was originally selected by Tampa Bay in the sixth round (178th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.
