Panthers Recall F Hunt from T-Birds

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has recalled forward Dryden Hunt from Florida’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.
 
Hunt, 21, has recorded eight points (5-3-8) in 13 games with Springfield in 2017-18. He ranks second among Thunderbirds players in goals (5) and shots (38), and is tied for second in power-play goals (2).
 
The 6-foot, 197-pound native of Cranbrook, British Columbia, posted 31 points (13-18-31) in 70 games with Springfield as a rookie in 2016-17 and registered two goals in a two-game stint with the Manchester Monarchs (ECHL).
 
Hunt was signed as a free agent by Florida on March 2, 2016.
 
In 72 games with the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League during the 2015-16 season, Hunt led the league with 58 goals and collected 116 points, the second highest total in the WHL. Hunt was awarded the 2016 Four Broncos Trophy, recognizing the WHL’s Player of the Year.
 
Springfield is next on home ice this Saturday, Nov. 11 for David Ortiz Night as the Thunderbirds host the Laval Rocket at 7:05. From there, the Thunderbirds will host the Providence Bruins on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 3:05 p.m. to round out their busy week.
