Panthers Recall F Sgarbossa From T-Birds

SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations Dale Tallon announced today that the Panthers have recalled forward Michael Sgarbossa from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.

The 24-year old Sgarbossa has recorded 11 points (4-7-11) in 13 games with Springfield this season and recorded one goal in two games with the San Diego Gulls (AHL). In nine games with the Anaheim Ducks this season, Sgarbossa has recorded two assists.
 
During the 2015-16 season, Sgarbossa recorded 44 points (17-27-44) in 62 games with San Diego and recorded five points (1-4-5) in five Calder Cup Playoff games. The 6-foot, 176-pound native of Campbellville, Ontario has played in 19 NHL games for Anaheim (2015-16) and Colorado (2012-15), recording three points (0-3-3).
 
Sgarbossa was awarded the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy, awarded annually to the Ontario Hockey League's top scorer in 2011-12, recording 102 points (47-55-102) in 66 games with the Sudbury Wolves.
