Panthers Recall McKegg, Assign Rau to T-Birds

SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations Dale Tallon announced today that the Panthers have recalled forward Greg McKegg from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.

The 24-year old has recorded four points (2-2-4) in seven games with Springfield this season and has recorded two assists in 19 games with the Panthers. The 6-foot, 191-pound native of St. Thomas, Ontario has played in 38 NHL games with the Panthers (2015-16) and Toronto Maple Leafs (2014-15), recording four points (2-2-4).

McKegg was originally selected by Toronto in the third round (62nd overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft.
 
Additionally, the Panthers have placed forward Aleksander Barkov on injured reserve and have loaned forward Kyle Rau to Springfield.

Rau played two games with the Thunderbirds to start the regular season before spending the next 24 games in the NHL with the Panthers. He recorded two goals and an assist in his NHL time this year.
